Eunice Asiedu hopeful of awards recognition for upcoming film
Actress and first-time film producer Eunice Asiedu is pumped for the Easter Monday release of her first film ‘Once Upon A Family’ and she is hopeful it makes some noise on the awards circuit both foreign and local.
‘Once Upon A Family’ is directed by Pascal Amanfo under the banner of EA productions and Eunice believes it will be defined by its twists and turns.
It stars Mercy Johnson, Halimah Abubakar, Kofi Adjorlolo, Prince David Osei, Pauline Oduro, Selly Galley, Fella Makafui and Belinda Dzattah.
Eunice noted that Pascal was her go-to director for this film saying her “first step was to reach the director Pascal and share my dream.”
“Pascal is like a brother to me and I have also worked with him before and I know the quality of work he gets done. So I believed he was going to help me achieve my goals,” she said.
It was through Pascal that she was able to get the Nigerian cast members like Mercy Johnson, Halimah Abubakar on board.
Eunice, who also stars in the film, admitted she was nervous about the release of her first film and expressed hope that “Ghanaians will come in their numbers to experience such a great production. I get nervous
about how things will go that day.
Though there was a lot of stress producing a film with a relatively large cast, she said she cherished the opportunity to meet new friends and colleagues.
“I wanted to touch every part of the world with the movie. I want everyone to relate well,” she added, explaining the decision go with a Pan-African cast for the film.
