Idris Elba’s fiancee shares valentine message
She got engaged to Idris Elba on February 10 when he popped the question live on-stage during a screening of his new movie Yardie.
And model Sabrina Dhowre, 29, was feeling the love as she shared a romantic pre-Valentines Day tribute to her new fiancé on Tuesday, expressing how lucky she feels to have found him.
Posting a snap to Instagram of the smitten pair enjoying a romantic dinner, the former Miss Vancouver gushed: ‘Baby! I can’t tell you enough how happy you make me and how lucky I feel to have found a love like this, you make my heart feel so full.
‘I love you. Forever will always feel to short.#imsuchacheeseball @idriselba’.
Idris, 45, looked typically handsome in a blue and black panelled jumper as he sweetly held onto his glamorous love’s hand over the table.
Stunning Sabrina looked chic in a sheer white blouse, with black trim, with her raven tresses styled sleek and straight.
The online show of affection came three days after Idris got down on one knee and proposed to Sabrina during the packed screening at the Rio cinema, Dalston, East London.
The cinema announced the news on its Twitter page, writing: “Another @riocinema first! Still 5 days to Valentines Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film #Yardie … She said yes and there was much clapping and cheering. (sic)”
The Dark Tower star, who claimed marriage was off the cards just six months ago after two divorces, couldn’t contain his joy for the special moment as his emotional other half said ‘yes’.
Idris and Sabrina made their red carpet debut as a couple in September 2017.
But the newly engaged lovebirds were said to have been dating for seven months before going public with the throes of their love.
The wedding bells may come as a surprise to many as Idris got down on one knee just six months after he vowed he would never walk down the aisle again.
He told ESSENCE magazine in July 2017: ‘Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.’
The director gave a rare glimmer into his private life when he confessed falling in love while making a movie was ‘pretty special’ in recent months.
He was filming The Mountain Between Us alongside Titanic’s Kate Winslet in Canada when he found himself smitten with beauty queen Sabrina.
Previously the Thor: Ragnarok actor was married to Kim Norgaard, with whom he shares daughter Isan, 17, and then Sonya Nicole Hamlin, whom he divorced just four months later.
He welcomed a son, Winston, with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth in 2014.
His ex-wife Sonya previously claimed he ended their relationship for his career but said she would be happy if he did decide to tie the knot again.
She had previously claimed he dumped her for the sake of his career but said she would be happy for him if he did want to get married again.
In 2016, she said: ‘People were telling him he was going to ruin his career. He was being told it was an important part of his image to be a single sex symbol in Hollywood and being married would damage that.
‘I’d be happy for him if he got married again, and he genuinely loved that person. I’m not a jealous person. I want him to be happy, just like I’m sure he wants me to be happy. I don’t think he’s ever going to have a problem being lonely.’
In his professional life, The Wire star’s career continues to go from strength to strength, with Idris currently filming the fifth season of gritty crime drama Luther.
