Citi FM holds 2018 Keeping Love Alive at Holiday Inn Hotel
The 2018 edition of Citi FM’s pre-Valentine’s Day event, Keeping Love Alive, was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra on 10th February, 2018.
The participants could not hide their excitement at love’s nuggets thrown at them by the seasoned relationship experts who shared lessons to savoring marriages.
Relationship advocate and counselor, Micheal Mensah revealed five major secrets happy couples do not tell anyone. These, he said were the foundations to lasting marriages.
“Happy couples have restrictions; they want to be alone sometimes. They don’t get everything they want and these sums up to the fact that sometime you have to give in or give up in a relationship,” he stated.
But one cannot have a successful relationship without prudent financial management. This critical aspect of any relationship was not left out of the programme. Host of Famlife on Citi FM and co-founder of Lead Afrique, Letitia Ohene-Effah dealt with financial mistakes to avoid in marriages.
“Couples must be clear about their understanding of money and how it affects their relationship. If this is done and a shared meaning is created it will engineer a fantastic financial marriage,” she noted.
After that, Life couch and counselor, Amos Kevin Annan also touched on some misconceptions about marriage.
To him, these false impressions influence the thoughts, practice and behaviours of many married couples.
Counseling Psychologist and CEO for Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Hopeson also explained how disappointments are dealt with in relationships.
Ranstina Yankey, Head of Events at Citi FM expressed her joy at the turnout of the event and promised that subsequent edition will be bigger and better.
“A lot of couples came early. Something bigger and better because it is better every year. We hope next year’s will be an amplified edition,” she stated.
Apart from the relationship talks, there was a lot to eat and drink as Ghanaian diva Irene Logan, also serenaded the couples with her soothing music.
Some lucky patrons won the opportunity to have a weekend stay at AH Hotel, with others winning GHc 500 worth of Nallem Clothing.
Keeping Love Alive 2018, was sponsored by AH Hotels and Nallem Clothing.
