Police invites Davido over friend’s death
Nigerian artiste David Adekeke known in showbiz as Davido has been invited by The Lagos State Police Command over the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike.
About two weeks ago, actress Caroline Danjuma took to her Instagram page to accuse Davido of having a hand in the death of Tagbo whose body was found in a Toyota Camry in front of the Lagos Island General Hospital.
The issue generated a lot of controversy in the media even though Davido denied perpetrating the supposed crime.
However, in the midst of a new revelation which shows that Tagbo died of asphyxia, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, confirmed that the musician had been invited again by the police for questioning.
He said Davido’s invitation was premised on a revelation by the CCTV footage which shows that he and his friends dumped Tagbo in the car and took to their heels.
“It is our intention to know why the victim was taken to General Hospital Lagos, dumped and those who took him there fled the location without as much as notifying the hospital authorities or reporting to the police,” the Police Commander said.
“Autopsy has been conducted and the preliminary autopsy report reveals that the victim died of asphyxia which in layman’s term means suffocation,” he added.
