Home coming of Miss Tourism Ghana 2017 2nd Princess
The entire community of Agotime Kpetoe was filled with joy and laughter as the inhabitants waited patiently to welcome their princess back home on the 7th September 2017.
Nene Neur Keteku III, paramount chief of Agotime Traditional State waited patiently with his sub chiefs at his palace while the District Chief Executive and his entourage were also waiting at the Agotime Ziope district assembly.
As the second princess approached the town, 3 gunshots were fired into the air to signal the inhabitants that their princess has finally arrived. She went to the Agotime Ziope district assembly to thank them for their support but unfortunately she met the absence of the DCE because he left few minutes before her arrival, to work on an equally important task. The people of the district assembly welcomed her and escorted her into the town with a convoy.
She went to the chief’s palace first as tradition demands, and also met the arrival of the Miss tourism Ghana Organization and the MissTourism Ghana 2017 queen. The reception was indeed traditional and memorable. Libation was poured to thank the gods of the land they danced to the drums of ‘borborbor’ and returned to the durbar grounds afterwards.
The durbar was held at the Elorm Parish church compound. It commenced and ended successfully as expected. The inhabitants raised funds to support their princess to start her project. The MP of Agotime Ziope, Hon Agbeve also pledged to sponsor her project that is yet to be executed. The inhabitants of Agotime Kpetoe also gave their princess a beautiful kente to depict that indeed she comes from the land where the unique and colourful kente is woven. They also showered the Miss Tourism organisation with gifts to show their appreciation. No one left the durbar grounds empty handed. There was enough food and drinks for all.
Afterwards, they went to Agotime Afegame where miss Sanni Providential Sadiyat hails from. They first went to Nene Mahumansuro’s palace as tradition demands. Libation was poured, and everyone felt at home. People came all the way from Ho, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Agotime Ziope, Kumasi, Sefwi, Accra, Agotime Zukpe, Nyitoe, Kpodzahon, and other immediate environs of Afegame to welcome their princess. Women showered Miss Ndede Dorothy Kojo and Miss Sanni Providential Sadiyat with songs of praise. The people were indeed filled with joy and excitement and this compelled them to shower their princess with more gifts such as kente and many more. Everyone danced to the drums of borborbor and wished it never ended but I was getting late. The ceremony finally came to an end and every one departed to their various destinations.
