Atuu Festival to be launched on August 19

On August 19, 2017, Atuu Festival of Arts (AFA), a platform to showcase an array of arts and cultural activities across the nation, will be launched.

The launch will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

AFA which is scheduled to take place at various venues across the country with the climax in Accra will be held in August next year.

It will encompass art fields such as music, cinema, books, paintings, sculpture, drama, fashion and handicrafts.

The festival is the brainchild of the Joint Committee of Collection Management Organisations (JCCMOs), a liason of the Audiovisual Rights Society of Ghana (ARSOG), Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and the Reprographic Rights Organisation of Ghana  (COPYGHANA).

Professor Ablade Glover, eminent Ghanaian art scholar, an artist and founder of the Artists Alliance Gallery, will deliver the keynote address at the festival launch.
