Stop ‘needless speculations’ on Ada’s abduction – YFM

The Management of YFM has appealed to media houses to avoid feeding the public with needless speculations on the kidnapping and sexual assault incident on one of its employees.

A statement from the station further urged the media to be circumspect in their reportage and allow the Police to conduct thorough investigations into the matter.

A YFM radio presenter at Takoradi in the Western Region, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, also known as Ms Ada was on Tuesday rushed to the hospital after she was allegedly kidnapped for over a week and sexually assaulted by some unknown persons.

The alleged suspects reportedly took photographs of the act Ms Ada and posted them on Facebook.

The photos went viral amidst speculations that the said incident was staged after the Police disclosed that the victim had been kidnapped five times.

However, her employers have warned that such speculation must stop.

They indicated that “these are trying times for her and her family and we urge the general public to exercise restraint and also respect her privacy as she recovers from this trauma in hospital.”

According to YFM management, since the incident, they have been in constant contact with Ms Ada’s next-of-kin and are also working closely with the Regional Police Command to unravel the circumstances surrounding her unfortunate abduction.

“We have every confidence in the Ghana Police Service to bring this matter to its logical conclusion. Let us keep her in our prayers,” the statement said.

They however expressed their appreciation to the general public for their “support and well wishes for Princess Ada and the station during this difficult time.”
